Brigadier level meeting between India and Pakistan on LOC, agreed not to fire without cause

The brigadier level officers of The Indian and Pakistani Army have held a brigadier level meeting at Poonch-Rawalakot crossing last Friday. Talks have been held to adhere to the recent agreement on cease-fire on the Line of Control (Loc). In a tweet, the army said, a brigade commander level flag meeting was held between the Indian and Pakistan Army at Poonch-Rawalakot crossing point on 26th March. During the meeting, the commanders of the two countries mutually agreed that local people or their cattle living in areas near the Loc sometimes reach the Loc. It is necessary to control it. There should not be any shelling on the part of the armies of the two countries without any reason. The Indian Army has also categorically stated to the Pakistani military authorities that infiltration along the Loc will not be tolerated. The Indian Army said, if any person tries to enter the Indian territory, strict action will be taken against him.

According to sources, india-Pakistan gates were opened on the Meeting of Chakka da Bagh on the Indo-Pak Loc, about 10 kms away from Poonch last Friday afternoon. Where the brigade commander and some other officers from the Indian Army had arrived at the Meeting. The Brigade commander of the Pakistani Army from Pakistan's most local area had also arrived with some of his other officers. In the meantime, the officers on both sides joined hands and gifted each other gifts. After which the meeting between the brigade commanders on both sides began. In the meantime, officials from both sides agreed to discuss a number of issues including the effective ceasefire along the Loc. Let us say that this type of brigade commander level meeting was held on 23rd August 2017 at chakka da Bagh. Thereafter, there was no dialogue between the two armies due to continuous shelling on the Loc and plethora of tensions between the two countries. It may be recalled that a day before the meeting of military officers, army chief General M.M. Narwane had said that not a single bullet has gone on the Line of Control (Loc) in Jammu and Kashmir in the month of March. For the first time in about five or six years, there has been a complete peace on the border. However, the army chief also said that the entire terror structure, including the launch pad of terrorists on pakistan side, still exists.
